The celebration of the Eucharist is central to the Catholic faith and thus Mass is celebrated on four of the five campuses. Weekly Mass is available at MIT, based across the road from MIT at St John the Evangelist Church. They warmly welcomes students and staff. The Chaplaincy team also hosts Mass every 2nd Sunday of the month at St Patrick’s Cathedral, this is a great opportunity for Catholic students to participate as Eucharistic ministers, Readers and Musicians so please approach one of the team if you are interested in getting involved.

Our Chaplain priest, Fr Christopher Denham is available for reconciliation or for any sacramental help that you may need. If you would like to offer Mass for a specific intention, do not hesitate to approach any of the chaplains and make a request.

A message from the Bishop

“University life offers you the gift of being exposed to ideas, beliefs and lifestyle. Often, our best decisions result from careful discernment, involving personal reflection, talking with others and conversation with God. So I want you to be aware that there is The Auckland Catholic Tertiary Chaplaincy present and active on the university campus. I wish all involved in university life – students, faculty members, other staff – God’s blessing.”
